Business Leadership Network
Themed: “Turning Enterprise Development Spend into an Investment”, the Business Leadership Network is an SME Opportunities & Exhibition Tour aimed at providing a platform for rural and township based business owners, grade12 pupils and tertiary students to meet with highly influential decision-makers from the public and private sectors and discuss the implementation of Corporate BB-BEE Strategies and Government Economic Growth Plan. The tour also focuses on unearthing the new breed of top leaders through multi-faceted skills training and leadership development programme at four high schools and one tertiary institution in each city, before delivering enhanced networking and partnership opportunities for corporate sponsors through an information sharing exhibition held at a selected mall.
Great Lessons from Great Entrepreneurs
Since its inception in 2005, Great Lessons from Great Entrepreneurs has inspired many SMEs to overcome challenges and turnaround their businesses into highly profitable larger enterprises. Themed: “Inspiring Women and Youth to Embrace Entrepreneurship”, this Inspired Leaders Cocktail Dinner is held to end Business Leadership Network’s day-long tour and features some of Africa’s most influential entrepreneurs who share their trade secrets, failures and successes as the way of providing learning opportunities for female-and-youth run SMEs in order to shorten the distance between their starting line and success.
In 2012, SABEF hosts three SME Development Events namely: The Enterprise Development Conference, National Entrepreneurship Awards and Africa Procurement Summit & Expo, as discribed below:
The Enterprise Development Conference
Held at Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni in South Africa from the 15th-17th March 2012 at 09:00-17:00, The Enterprise Development Conference is the networking, trade show and ED Strategy dialogue platform for entrepreneurs, policy-makers, academic experts, enterprise development practitioners and decision-makers from the public and private sectors. Themed: “Building Strategic Partnerships Opportunities beyond the Economic Crisis”, the three-day Conference’s main objective is to offer a fantastic opportunity for SMEs, corporate and government institutions to showcase their products and services as a way to improve the pool of entities they supply to.
National Entrepreneurship Awards
National Entrepreneurship Awards will be staged at The Ballroom, Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on the 12th of April 2012 at 18:30-22:00 to recognize excellence, innovation and ethics across the full spectrum of public and private sector enterprises – from the small and medium enterprises to big corporations, media housess and government support agencies. Themed: “Celebrating Entrepreneurial Diversity”, the Awards is ramping up its Best of South Africa campaign to give national recognition to the corporate executives, entrepreneurs and institutions helping to collectively present a convincing picture of how the South African business community is evolving and adapting to global standards.
Africa Procurement Summit & Expo
Africa Procurement Summit & Expo will be held at Birchwood Conference Centre, Gauteng in South Africa from 10th-12th Jul 2012 at 09:00-17:00. The three-day Summit & Expo is an ideal platform for public and private sector decision-makers to showcase their institutions’ procurement strategy and opportunities to the potential clients, suppliers and governments in the African continent, with an aim to improve existing relationships and pursue new contacts. Themed: “Seizing Business Opportunities in an Exciting New Era”, Africa Procurement Summit & Expo is an opportunity to increase the corporate profile of the participating institutions and to parlay the entire repertoire of goods and services procured to existing suppliers and contractors.
